Job Description

Horizon Legacy is pioneering the use of robots in construction and solving the problem of labour shortage and affordable housing.  Horizon is creating the first construction automation lab in Canada, located in the heart of Toronto.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced sales lead to join our team and be a part of our growing company by bring cutting-edge robotic applications for mortars, concrete, and 3D concrete printing (3DCP) solutions to market.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Strategic Growth be responsible for Sales, Marketing & Business Development. Some of their responsibilities will be:

  • Develop annual Business Development Departmental Plan & Budgets
  • Speak to the market, gets feedback, identifies new processes for automation
  • Review effectiveness of market strategies and tactics by monitoring feedback from sales data, customer surveys, and benchmarking vs. major competitors
  • Develop annual Marketing Plan; conducts market research (primary and secondary), establishes targets for market penetration, market development, and product/service development by sector and segment
  • Act as the primary media and public relations contact for the firm
  • Maintain contact with new customers to ensure a smooth on-boarding process; present and discuss quotes with customers
  • Keep sales funnel filled on a monthly and quarterly basis with good prospects and qualified leads
  • Develop sales team and provides best practices and training as needed based on the company KPIs
  • Plan and execute sales campaigns, assists with industry trade show events
  • Negotiate and manage all construction and service contracts
  • Manage customer relations

About You

The right individual for this role, will bring:

  • 5+ years of experience leading a Sales Team in Construction with a background in concrete/formwork.
  • Solid working relationships with developers, general contractors, architectural/landscaping firms
  • A hunter and a closer, this individual will bring a business mindset and project management experience
  • Able to work on estimates/pricing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Degree or technical diploma in Engineering or Construction Technology desirable
  • Strong knowledge of construction management budgeting and design-build process
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, customer oriented. The individual should be able to understand clearly the client requirements
