Job Description
Horizon Legacy is pioneering the use of robots in construction and solving the problem of labour shortage and affordable housing. Horizon is creating the first construction automation lab in Canada, located in the heart of Toronto.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced electrical engineer to join our team and be a part of our growing Research and Development department. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing the next generation of our automation and robotic systems and products for construction sites. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and construction sub-trades, to bring cutting-edge robotic applications for mortars, concrete, and 3D concrete printing (3DCP) solutions to market.
Place of work
This is a full-time position with annual salary of $120,000-130,000 depending on experience and qualifications. You are also eligible for bonuses and a company health and dental plan.
Normal work will be in person, up to five days a week at our automation lab in Toronto at Downsview Park near the intersection of Wilson Ave and Keele St. From time to time, you will be required to work in the field or on a construction site and will be there for weeks at a time.

About Horizon Legacy
For the past 70+ years, Horizon Legacy Group has been creating large scale infrastructure projects. Over the past 15 years, we’ve been developing renewable energy projects in wind, waterpower and solar spanning across Canada and the US. For more information on those activities, please visit www.horizonlegacy.com
Construction is an industry that’s made relatively little progress in how it organizes its business, still using century-old technologies and processes. We believe digital capabilities present opportunities to make qualitative leaps for the industry. There have been piecemeal efforts made, but no significant revolution in overall project scale practice.
Horizon is currently building the first and largest 3D printed neighbourhood in Canada, pioneering the use of on site robotics and automation in construction.
Horizon is also creating a new Construction Automation Lab in the heart of Toronto, Canada. The lab will serve as a hub for cutting-edge research and development in the field of construction automation, revolutionizing the industry and solving the problem of labour shortages currently experienced in Canada and globally.
